Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Personnel assigned on shifts to carry out planned activities of the security program as well as any authorized duties relating to emergency management functions.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a security officer involving extensive public contact
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • DRV LIC =  Poses a valid State Driver's License or have the ability to obtain prior to hire date
  • CT CCW = Certified to Carry Concealed Weapon or applicable state license.;  Must have a current CCW if required or able to produce proof of application awaiting their approved CCW hard card
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions & maintain attention and concentration for necessary periods
  • Synthesize coordinate and analyze data perform simple and repetitive tasks
  • Maintain a work pace appropriate to given workload & perform complex and varied tasks
  • Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions & get along with co-workers and peers
  • Understand the meaning of words and how to use them appropriately and effectively & understand and remember detailed instructions
  • Make independent decisions or exercise judgment based on appropriate information & accept and carry out responsibility for direction control and planning
  • Knowledge of Life Safety TJC CMS and OSHA regulations and standards
  • Workplace violence training within 6 months of employment
  • Completion of NIMS compliant ICS 100HCb 200b & 700a courses
  • CPR BLS  = Basic Life Support (AHA) Certification within 90 days of employment.
  • International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) preferred Basic course within 90 days of employment and IAHSS Advanced course within six months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Hospital experience
