The posted compensation range of $17.12 - $23.54 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Ambulatory Surgery Coordinator is responsible for arranging patient and physician schedules for surgical procedures.
- This includes providing pre/post-operation instructions to patients and selection and quoting of charges for cosmetic procedures.
- The coordinator will also work with physicians to reserve operating rooms and scheduling support staff for the operation.
- The Coordinator is responsible for all patient requests for referrals and authorizations both internal and external; encounter form processing and batching; scheduling in/out patient medical procedures; greet arriving patients manage patient wait times; assist patients with necessary completion of paperwork; provide informational services registration of all patients; process incoming/outgoing calls/schedule appointments.
- It is also the responsibility of the Coordinator to communicate with the patients the status of their authorizations and/or referrals in a timely manner.
- The Coordinator may also be asked to perform other clerical duties as needed such as support daily clinic operation goals bench marks and quality patient initiatives per departmental guidelines.
- This position may have access to third party credit card information and transactional systems (cash registers point of sale devices applications supporting credit card transactions and reports or other documents containing credit card information) from single transactions or a single card at a time.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience in scheduling medical/surgical procedures or operating room.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Excellent interpersonal organizational and customer service skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical terminology familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 coding procedures and reference tools.
- Familiarity with an electronic practice management system.
