Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Sterile Processing Professional, you will be a critical guardian of patient safety, ensuring surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, and sterile instrumentation.
Every day, you will expertly perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy, delivering instruments with resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism. You will continuously expand your knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation.
To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a rigorous commitment to infection control, ensuring optimal surgical outcomes with a professional demeanor.
- The Central Processing Technician competently and consistently performs the following:
- Receives, identifies and decontaminates patient care equipment, using all appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Disassembles various procedure trays, packs and prepares them for terminal sterilization.
- Thoroughly cleans, inspects, wraps and sterilizes equipment at proper cycles.
- Aerates gas sterilized goods as required.
- Assures the supplies on crash carts are replenished immediately, and the cart is prepared and sealed.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate or GED
- One (1) year of patient care experience or certified in Central Sterile Processing
- Certified Central Service Technician or CSPDT (CRCST or CSPDS or CSPDT) within 1 year.
Preferred
- One year CP experience and/or knowledge of patient care items
