Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Echocardiographer II performs diagnostic and stress ultrasound examinations of the heart, using real time, M-Mode, doppler and color flow equipment for inpatients and outpatients; adult and pediatric. Additional responsibilities may include performing EKGS, EEGs, treadmill stress tests, holter monitoring/scanning, and telephonic arrhythmia monitoring for inpatients and outpatients; adult and pediatric.
To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.
- Performs technically correct echocardiograms that are of high resolution and contrast quality per protocol
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology for echocardiographic diagnostic purposes.
- Maintains quality control procedures and records on echocardiographic equipment.
- Performs cardiac diagnostic cardiac procedures (EKGs, EEGs, holter monitoring/scanning, telephonic arrhythmia monitoring) per protocol for both inpatients and outpatients; adult and pediatric.
- Recognizes both abnormal EKG rhythms and cardiac abnormalities on echo that are potentially life threatening notifying appropriate person, RN or MD.
- Checks emergency resuscitation/crash cart equipment daily and assures availability for procedures.

Required
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, upon hire or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI
- Basic Life Support
Preferred
- Other Graduate of a program for cardiovascular technology and One year acute care ultrasound experience
