Responsibilities
The Special Procedures Technologist II performs general radiographic procedures and at least two other imaging modalities, CT, Angiography, Mammography and Breast Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry
or MRI.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrates mastery of use of radiographic equipment and accessories, including CT scanner, MRI scanner, angiography equipment, bone densitometry or mammography equipment
- Assesses film quality for position, artifacts, density and contrast
- Demonstrates ability to trouble-shoot cause of poor quality images and takes corrective measures
- Reviews difficult or questionable examinations with a radiologist.
- Provides radiation protection for patients, assistants and self in accordance with all regulations
- Demonstrates the knowledge of the proper uses and dangers of contrast medias
Qualifications
Required:
- Current California State Department of Health Certification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
- California fluoroscopic permit
- current BLS
- Current ARRT registration
- One year experience in CT
