Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Perioperative Support Tech, you will perform self-directed activities crucial for the efficiency and smooth operation of the perioperative area(s), contributing to a safe, sterile, and organized surgical environment.

Every day you will inventory, disassemble, clean, reassemble, and maintain OR equipment, while assisting in maintaining a clean OR environment and transporting patients. All tasks will strictly adhere to Standard Precaution guidelines and safety standards.

To be successful, you need exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach to maintaining the perioperative environment, and a thorough understanding of safety protocols.

Ensures only those supplies and equipment required for Surgery related cases are being ordered. Does not order anything outside of the Lawson Requisitioning processes.  Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Materials Management. 

  • ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS COMPETENCY /CRITICAL ELEMENTS ASSESSMENT CRITERIA/STANDARDS

  • Demonstrates adherence to the Standards of Conduct Requirements. Completes and turns in the SOC acknowledgement card.  Fulfills compliance education requirements as directed by the Compliance Department or department management "The Integrity Program: Standards of Conduct-a guide to compliance and ethics
  • Prepares and coordinates OR annual inventory. Does not have variances in excess of +/- 5%. 
  • Orders required supplies, on a daily basis, utilizing Lawson RSS and HHT technologies. 
  • Make any adjustments to the PAR Levels, as necessary, to maintain proper stocking levels to support Surgical vloumes. These adjustments must be entered in Lawson. 
  • Performs periodic inventory of any consignment items and verifies against consignment contract. 
  • In coordination with OR staff, establishes par levels for new supplies in all areas of the operating room and maintains Lawson for accuracy.



Job Requirements

Required

  • High School GED
  • Minimum of five years experience in an OR Materiels Coordinator function
  • Knowledge and competency with computers and various software applications/technologies (Lawson preferred)
