Job Summary and Responsibilities

Are you a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individual looking to make a direct impact on the lives of individuals in crisis? We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to join our Psychiatric Acute Care Unit. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct patient care, maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, and support patients on their path to stabilization and recovery

  • Provide continuous observation and monitoring of patients, reporting any changes in mental status, behavior, or physical condition to nursing staff promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu through ongoing environmental scans, close observation, and adherence to security protocols
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team.
  • Participate in shift reports and treatment team meetings.
  • Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and therapists.

Job Requirements
  • High School GED Required. 
  • 2 years of acute psychiatric care experience required.
  • Associates Other in progress for social sciences or psychology. Preferred.
  • Bachelor's in progress for social sciences or psychology preferred.
  • AHA BLS certification is also required.
This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
