The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $32.08 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an ER Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments.
Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team.
To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ER.
- Demonstrates adherence to the standards of conduct requirements
- Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse within the scope of practice of a nursing assistant, such as vital signs, ambulation, activities of daily living, and routine treatment procedures as defined by hospital policy/procedure/routine.
- Reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient's condition to the licensed nurse. Demonstrates clinical/technical expertise in general nursing skills. Understands age-specific variations in the patient population.
- Documents patient care measures according to patient care standards, policies, and procedures. Manages age-specific needs through appropriate adaptation of interventions (as directed by the licensed nurse)
- Assists in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer, transport, and discharge procedures. Provides for the safe care of patient valuables during these processes. Utilizes proper body mechanics when performing job duties.
- Maintains adequate levels of supplies and functioning of equipment and demonstrates accountability for all equipment.
This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Job Requirements
- High School GED General Studies required.
- EMT Certificate required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) required.
Preferred
- 1 yr of acute care experience in a similar emergency room.
