Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery during critical, time-sensitive situations at St. Joseph's Westgate. You will be the frontline provider, facing a dynamic and unpredictable environment where every moment counts in stabilizing and managing a diverse range of acute medical conditions and traumas.

Every day, you will leverage your specialized expertise to provide rapid, individualized, comprehensive care, making swift and critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing urgent patient care plans for patients of all ages, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, advanced practice providers, paramedics, and support staff, contributing to a high-pressure, yet highly rewarding, environment focused on immediate stabilization and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities and Contributions:

  • Rapid Assessment & Triage: Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care, performing rapid and accurate assessments to prioritize patient needs and facilitate timely intervention for various medical and traumatic emergencies.
  • Emergency Interventions: Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities, balanced with the urgent needs and comfort of critically ill or injured patients. Initiates and manages life-saving interventions
  • Patient & Family Support: Serves as an advocate for patients' needs by demonstrating holistic care practices, offering support and clear communication to patients and their families during highly stressful times.
  • Clinical Acuity & Adaptability: Demonstrates the ability to recognize, interpret, and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner, often under pressure.

Note: This is a Stand Alone Emergency Facility

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Two (2) years Emergency Services experience
  • AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State.
  • American Heart Association
    • Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
    • Adavanced Cardiac Life Suppport (ACLS)
    • Pediactric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
