Job Summary and Responsibilities

Supports the nursing administration in areas of acuity, Multiple Patient Task List functions, and office administration. Responsible for managing the Multiple Patient Task List functions and pre-processing of all patient admissions and/or internal placement of patient admissions, transfers.

  • Independently determines safe and appropriate patient bed assignments based on patient admission criteria and documented diagnosis.
  • Prioritizes bed placement using age specific requirements, diagnosis and condition of patient.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines for admissions of patients as well as internal transfer of patients.
  • Accurately processes admissions, transfer and discharges in the clinical information system.
  • Monitors patient admissions and makes changes to patient status as appropriate requiring multiple system updating.

Job Requirements

Required: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year as a Coordinator, Patient Access or Patient Placement in a hospital or healthcare setting
