Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Biomedical Equipment Technician, you’ll support patient care by assuring important medical equipment working properly and accurately. This role allows for health care teams to confidently leverage diagnostic equipment when needed because of the work you do through a combination of Preventative Maintenance (PM) and equipment repairs.
You’ll be working in a hospital where you can expect to encounter patients and clinicians. Your focus day-to-day can vary depending on equipment priorities, but your best days end with all of your maintenance tickets resolved and preventative maintenance checklists completed. - Performs significant preventative maintenance/safety tests/calibration for equipment.
- Provides equipment repair throughout responsible area.
- Completes all necessary record keeping for work orders received and/or finished.
- Assists in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for servicing of equipment.
- Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
Job Requirements
Required:
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field
- OR equivalent military education
- OR graduate of a technical program
- OR equivalent training validated through training certifications
- Minimum of two (2) year of experience servicing technical equipment
- AZ Drivers License
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in the standardized situations

- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)
- Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES)
- Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES)
- Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM)
