Job Summary and Responsibilities

This job is responsible for assisting with patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse; performs data entry, unit secretarial functions, and equipment processing.

  • Direct Patient Care: Provides personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, and physical comfort (bathing, skin care, shaving, dressing).
  • Mobility & Positioning: Performs lifting, turning, transferring, and ambulation of patients.
  • Clinical Support & Monitoring: Monitors and documents vitals, collects/transports specimens, and reports patient condition changes to RNs.
  • Unit Support & Maintenance: Maintains a clean environment, stocks supplies, and manages patient belongings during admission, discharge, or transfer.
  • Equipment Sanitation: Cleans, disinfects, and maintains mobile non-critical medical equipment according to standards.
  • Compliance & Safety: Performs all duties within scope of practice, following infection control protocols and safety standards.

Job Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program, upon hire or military medical specialty training
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: WA 
  • Basic Life Support - CPR required through through the American Heart Association


Preferred

  • Six months related work experience and
  • Experience in a hospital setting and a specialty unit.
  • Preference is given toward applicants with experience as both a Certified Nursing Assistant and Unit Coordinator.
