The posted compensation range of $15.00 - $20.12 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Nutrition Assistant, you will assist in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient food services to patients and staff. Every day you will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, ensure food safety compliance, and interact with patients regarding dietary needs. To be successful, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong food safety knowledge, and excellent customer service, contributing to a positive dining experience.
- Dietary Compliance & Preparation: Follows therapeutic diet guidelines, allergy restrictions, and prepares meals, nourishments, snacks, and supplements accordingly, utilizing production tools
- Patient Communication & Education: Explains basic therapeutic diet orders and menus to patients and families, escalating complex nutrition questions to clinical support
- Preference Collection & Distribution: Collects patient food preferences, ensures compliance with diet orders, and distributes preferences for timely menu planning
- Electronic System Proficiency: Operates electronic diet office software and navigates electronic health records to access patient diet orders and nutritional reports
- General Cleaning & Sanitation: Performs regular cleaning of equipment and work areas, including tray lines, coolers, office areas, and emptying trash
- Customer Service & Support: Ensures patient satisfaction regarding dietary needs while adhering to all established procedures and protocols
Required
- One (1) year food service experience
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
