Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Market Development Representative, you will educate and inform physicians and providers at assigned facilities about opportunities for increased awareness and referrals, aligning with organizational strategic plans and key service line business plans.

Every day you will drive strategic outreach to physicians and providers, communicate concerns related to hospital operations and referral development, and uncover, progress, and implement organization-driven business development opportunities to enhance referrals and retention.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong communication and relationship-building skills, a deep understanding of healthcare market dynamics, and the ability to effectively frame new opportunities, address concerns, and drive business development aligned with strategic goals.

  • Primarily identify, initiate, and maintain contact with referral sources that will yield new referrals for the organization.
  • Execute physician relations and retention strategies and plans based on organizational performance requirements and deliver referral growth results in accordance with predetermined targets.
  • Complete facetoface physician relations meetings with physicians and providers ensuring that a thorough understanding is gained regarding desires and needs.
  • Establish an ongoing visit schedule with existing referral sources to ensure all aspects of referral relationships including access, communication, and medical management are working positively for these physicians and providers.
  • Complete followup meetings with physicians as needed to close new or additional business, ensuring that internal and external obstacles to business growth and retention are identified and minimized or eliminated.
  • Responsible for identifying and communicating key trends in service gaps and/or breakdowns that would be critically important to longterm physician and provider relations.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor Degree in business, healthcare administration, or public health administration (other healthcare or sales equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Five (5) years in a health care field sales role or sales manager role
  • Understand the practice of medicine including referral relationships, payer requirements, and other economic and clinical influences
