The posted compensation range of $49.78 - $74.05 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will help patients experiencing communication and swallowing disorders so they can significantly improve their quality of life through expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
Every day you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs and goals. You will be expected to contribute your clinical expertise to develop and upgrade treatment programs and protocols, actively shaping departmental and organizational goals related to speech and swallowing therapy, and collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

- Evaluations are completed according to department protocol. Completed within 48 hours once evaluation has been initiated.
- Provides effective and adequate treatment. Implements effective and adequate treatment following department guidelines. Ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness. Goals and treatment are modified as appropriate in relation to working toward goals. Selects appropriate treatment interventions.
- Patient/family education and training. Addresses patient/family education. Demonstrates a variety of teaching methods. Methods are appropriate to the level of understanding.
- Complies with department policy regarding documentation. Completed in a timely manner according to department policy. Concise, legible, correct grammar using medical terminology and approved abbreviations.
- Communication & Collaboration with Team/MD: Appropriately communicates treatment plan and patient status with team and MD with no more than 1 complaint per year. Participates in team conferences. Addresses verification of payor guidelines/authorizations as needed, in a timely manner.
- Delegates to and Supervises Others: Delegates to and supervises support staff and students in achieving desired outcomes with no more than 1 complaint per year.
Required
- Speech Language Pathologist: CA, within 6 - months
- Basic Life Support - CPR from the American Heart Association
Preferred
- Completed an accredited Speech Pathologist degree program and be board eligible and able to obtain CA SLP license within 6 months or have already obtained a CA SLP License
- Previous experience as a speech pathologist
