Responsibilities
This job description outlines the responsibilities and qualifications of an Ambulatory Interventional/Procedural Registered Nurse (RN). Here's a summary broken down into key areas:
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality, skilled nursing care: This includes assisting patients before, during, and after invasive or interventional procedures in an ambulatory setting. The care is tailored to the individual patient's needs and health status.
- Utilizing the nursing process: The RN employs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to optimize patient outcomes. This includes skilled assessment and triage, education, and coordination of care resources.
- Collaboration and Advocacy: The RN works collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers. They advocate for patients, especially when patients are unable to advocate for themselves.
- Clinical Expertise: The RN demonstrates technical expertise in interventional/procedural nursing, applying clinical judgment, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice.
- Continuous Improvement: The RN actively participates in clinical inquiry, seeking ways to improve care delivery and utilizing tools like the Virginia Mason Production System (VMPS).
- Compassionate Care: The RN fosters a compassionate and supportive environment, incorporating principles of caring such as Swanson's Caring Theory.
- Cultural Sensitivity: The RN demonstrates sensitivity to diverse patient needs and backgrounds.

Qualifications
We require:
- Current WA State RN license is required.
- 1 or more years recent RN experience with acute care patients.
- CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work. - Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements
Completion of related residency program with minimum 2 years of experience in area of care (OR, PACU)
- Prefer candidates with certification in related areas of care, such as OR, PACU
- Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records of electronic medical records
