The posted compensation range of $51.66 - $74.91 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
This is a remote position.
The Category Manager is responsible for developing and leading multiple savings initiatives within the Cardiovascularcategory team, with primary focus on cost reduction opportunities, contract utilization and standardization initiatives. This position requires internal and external contacts at senior levels, to exert influence and affect opinion on key issues related to sourcing initiatives, utilization and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Category Director to develop a portfolio of strategic savings initiatives
- Collaborates with various teams including national service lines, clinical collaborative groups, divisional implementation, and operations to develop strategic and operational direction on contracting requirements, new technologies, clinical practice standards, and national initiatives within assigned category
- Supports product evaluations (as needed), utilizing project management principles, in support of cost saving initiatives
- Supports best practices and established processes for new product introduction, review, analysis and communication
- Collaborates with Value Analysis, Data Analytics, Contracting, Purchasing, Implementation and Operations team members to ensure success of product conversions and utilization initiatives
- Represents category and supply chain in interactions with operations, finance, clinicians and vendors
- Demonstrates knowledge of the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape for assigned product category, including industry technological advancements
- Develops and maintains relationships and trust with peers. Leads through influence and demonstrates leadership by mentoring and developing junior team members
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business/Healthcare Administration is required; Master's Degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of contracting, supply chain, or clinical experience with evidence of progressive, increasing responsibility.
- Minimum of two (2) years project management experience
- Experience maintaining Cardiovascular category of healthcare products or services, analyzing industry trends and conditions, and implementing sourcing strategies
- Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to prioritize and manage highly sensitive competing projects
- Strong business and clinical acumen and analytical mindset
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Strong ability to form effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (e.g., administrative, clinical, finance, vendor)
- Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity (i.e., ability to work autonomously while making decisions based on information provided)
- Experience with and literate in supply chain computer applications, Microsoft Office or Google applications and user knowledge of each to achieve Supply Chain goals
