Responsibilities

This is a remote position and may require travel.

Serves in a regulatory management role for Promoting Interoperability, Inpatient Quality Reporting, Quality Payment Program and other regulatory initiatives related to various electronic health record solutions as well as supporting transitions to electronic health records (EHR).  Provides strong project leadership skills and identifies, implements and evaluates information systems and operational processes which support clinical practice and business operations, and establishes standards and practices for regulatory initiatives.  Collaborates with stakeholders (facility, regional, and enterprise) in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for regulatory requirements, audits and associated processes, policies and information systems.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the strategic plan and delivery for a specific program or group of programs, including the Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program. Inpatient Quality Reporting Program’s electronic clinical quality measures and Quality Payment Program’s MIPS overall reporting.  Manages the implementation of key clinical information systems to insure desired regulatory, reporting, goals and objectives are met.
  • Ensures that all structures and processes required for successful adoption of new workflows within the regulatory area of focus are in place. Collaborates in the development of professional education, organizes educational training programs to insure the proficiency of regulatory compliance for CommonSpirit Health.    Communicates and facilitates the dissemination of information including but not limited to end-users for new requirements updates and regulatory revisions. 

  • Provides system level summaries and reports to leadership.  Tracks, analyzes and monitor performance of system data for presentation & executive review.  Collaborates with cross-functional teams and ensures deadlines are met.

  • Coordinates the measure implementation, collection and reporting for electronic clinical quality and promoting interoperability measures.  Addressing report validation, performance improvement, investigative problem solving and overall success of regulatory data submissions.   Works closely with hospital and provider resources and regulatory leadership to ensure measure performance and thresholds are met and exceeded in adherence to reporting timelines.  
  • Supports audit readiness and response. Responsible for the achievement of desired regulatory reporting outcomes on time and within budget, and develops recommendations for improvement if necessary.
  • Mentors and manages people, projects and/or tasks collaboratively and coaches others to achieve optimal performance; delegates effectively; praises/rewards contributions, defines clear roles and responsibilities; sets goals and leads initiatives while adjusting plan as necessary. Empowers and shares authority and responsibility with others while holding staff accountable
  • Prepares and facilitates successful transitions to Epic EHR and ensures regulatory readiness, reporting and compliance in the use of EHRs, technology and tools.  Establishes key deliverables for assigned team members for the successful implementation of the regulatory deliverable or project.  Ensures that governance, policy and process standards are followed.  



Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years related healthcare experience required with minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with direct reports required. 
  • Healthcare Clinical Licensure required– Nursing, pharmacy, therapy. 
  • Experience transitioning legacy EHR's to Epic
  • Experience with regulatory reporting with various EHR solutions (Allscripts, Meditech, Cerner)
  • Epic certifications in Ambulatory, ClinDoc or Healthy Planet preferred.
  • Epic regulatory badges preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, facilitation and expertise in healthcare regulatory reporting.
  • Experience with Promoting Interoperability objective measures and demonstrated focus and expertise in electronic clinical quality measures.  
  • Advanced MS office skills as well as Google workspace products and Gmail.  
  • Demonstrated effective healthcare system-level program management, facilitation, presentation and cross-functional team management experience.
