Responsibilities
This is a remote position.
A highly skilled and experienced Manager of Advanced Analytics and Coding will lead a team of advanced Sr. Data Analysts focused on optimizing our supply chain through the development and implementation of cutting-edge analytical solutions. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain principles and operations. The Manager will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team, developing innovative analytical models and translating complex data insights into actionable strategies that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance resilience across our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team of Sr. Data Analysts on the technical career path. Provide guidance, support and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs and contribute to team growth.
- Design, develop, and deploy sophisticated analytical models and algorithms to address complex business problems across various departments.
- Develop and administer technical training programs for SSRM teams including, up not limited to, Analytics, ERP, Operations and Financial Insights, Edgewise. Specifically, in SQL and Python, also including Jupyter, dbt, ADO and Streamlit as appropriate
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of data warehouse tables and function as primary resource for training/supporting analysts in fully utilizing the data warehouse
- Manage project lifecycles by overseeing all aspects of analytical projects, from initial conceptualization and design to implementation, testing and deployment ensuring projects are delivered on time.
- Coding & Development: Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines, algorithms, and applications to support supply chain analytics. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL is essential. Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
- Function as primary contact with Data Science and Infrastructure teams to create requirement documents and communicate use cases to ensure new models/projects are aligned with team needs
- Develop and maintain code script libraries
- Identify opportunities for increased standardization and data cleansing via standard code, lead the creation and implementation of the solutions
- Responsible for developing input/output templates for all script based processes along with technical and end-user documentation
- Ability to cleanse and analyze large external datasets, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions
- Identify and address complex data challenges and find creative solutions. Document solutions and train others on their use.
- Inspire and motivate analysts of all levels to enhance their coding skills thereby increasing speed to value on projects
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field from four year college or university is required
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Operations Research, Statistics, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience and data experience preferred OR, Demonstrated management experience required
- Experience in Supply Chain is beneficial.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL is essential.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
- Able to function independently, adapt quickly to changing environments and open to new ideas
- Capable of maintaining an independent perspective without losing collaborative nature, trust and respect
- Knowledge of advanced analytic tools and software
- Knowledge of databases and ability to extract, combine, and organize large data sets
- Superior analytical abilities, particularly in strategic business and financial analysis
- Ability to prepare quick pointed summaries for stakeholders
- Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people
- Knowledge of relevant analytical and statistical software
- Capability to translate the technical aspects of quality to what it means for the business, both top and bottom line
- Mathematical skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to financial cost analysis.
- Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Must be proficient with Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets, PowerPoint or Google Slides and Outlook or Google Calendar
