System Director, Strategic Sourcing (General Medicine)
The posted compensation range of $80.17 - $119.26 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our System Director, SSRM Strategic Sourcing - General Med, you will drive system-wide spend management for a designated product category and set and implement a strategy to optimize total cost of ownership, including sourcing, standardization, and utilization. You will lead a team of staff with relevant product and market expertise.
Every day, you will oversee a significant annual spend and interact with a variety of high-level clinical and organizational leadership. This will involve strategic negotiation, vendor management, and market analysis to ensure the most effective products are procured.
To be successful in your role, you will strategically lead critical supply chain sourcing initiatives, directly impacting the organization's financial health and operational efficiency. You will demonstrate expertise in spend management, product optimization, and collaborative leadership, ensuring the effective procurement and utilization of essential medical products while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Acts as a change leader - sets inspiring vision, role models change
- Represents category and supply chain in interactions with operations, finance and clinicians
- Collaborates with Contracting, Data Analytics, Purchasing, Technology, Operations and Implementation teams to ensure key stakeholders aligned with category strategy and support during conversions
- Provides supervision, management and business direction to category team
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of category product portfolio. Remains current on products in the market
- Maintains sourcing calendar for category to ensure proper lead time and resource planning. Ensure associated contract categories are routinely evaluated, understand root causes of spend variations and continuously identify opportunities to improve multiple sources of value (price, standardization, utilization, operations).
- Ensures rigorous approach to managing new products within category (e.g., works with clinical and financial stakeholders to prioritize new products to bring to appropriate committee, supports Value Analysis in delivery of new product process)
- Identifies opportunities to standardize products across organization and makes fact-based recommendations in determining whether product should be standardized and/or used at CommonSpirit Health facilities
- Evaluates primary and secondary sources of supply to understand competitive landscape and identify opportunities for better pricing
- Documents quality issues and convenes peer review committee to review safety concerns and determine if product use should be discontinued
Job Requirements
Required
- Bachelors Other Accounting, Finance or Business/Healthcare Administration
- Minimum of seven (7) years of contracting, supply chain, or clinical experience with evidence of progressive, increasing responsibility, with a minimum of 5 years of leadership level experience and demonstrated success mentoring and developing key subordinates., upon hire
- Experience maintaining a category of healthcare products or services, analyzing industry trends and conditions, and implementing sourcing strategies and
- Experience with and literate in supply chain computer applications, Microsoft Office or Google applications and user knowledge of each to achieve Supply Chain goals and
