The posted compensation range of $69.57 - $103.49 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
The System Director of Ambulatory Patient Safety is responsible for directing and implementing the patient safety program in the ambulatory setting that enhances High Reliability and includes improving a culture of safety that is based on a Just Culture, measures to reduce precursor events, serious safety events, and increase good catches in the ambulatory space, along with developing, maintaining and sustaining a culture of reliability through safety sciences and evidence based practice.
- Implement a comprehensive national patient safety program that includes a culture of safety, just culture, and high reliability principles in the ambulatory setting.
- Lead and improve Culture of Safety through internal efforts and in alignment with national standards.
- Partner with ambulatory clinical leaders to identify and prioritize patient safety risks, and develop policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Conduct safety assessments and audits, both internal and external in collaboration with CommonSpirit’s contracted vendor to evaluate the effectiveness of patient safety practices and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide education, training, and lead national initiatives for patient safety principles, including just culture, shared learnings, and high reliability in the ambulatory setting.
- Identify academic and industry trends to implement new safety science initiatives.
Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Of Science or Equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of patient safety experience, and
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience and
Licensure and Certifications
One of the following Licenses is required:
- Registered Nurse
- Pharmacist
- Physician Assistant
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Preferred
- Masters Degree
