Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Principal Software Engineer, you will create or enhance complex applications, identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to meet end-user needs and business goals.

Every day you will work on multiple high-complexity solutions, troubleshooting and resolving intricate software problems. You'll provide technical guidance to engineering teams, oversee their project contributions, act as a subject matter expert, and mentor all software engineers.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional software design and coding expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and proven leadership in technically guiding and mentoring teams. Excellent communication for conveying complex technical concepts and a commitment to innovation are essential.

  • Provide technical guidance in software design and development activities.
  • Assist in maintenances and upgrades of existing software applications.
  • Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements.
  • Provide support in all phases of SDLC and ensure to deliver high-quality products.
  • Provide trainings and mentor other Engineers when required.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot application issues in a timely fashion.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors Of Science Computer Science, Computer Engineer or related technical discipline or equivalent software development experience, upon hire.
  • 7+ years of job-related experience and 8+ years of experience as senior software engineer.
  • Experience:
    • Served as an Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) engineer.
  • Experience Details:
    • 4+ years of experience completing technical implementations, data architecture, and system integrations to power real-time customer journeys.
    • Created and managed XDM (Experience Data Model) schemas for profiles and experience events.
    • Set up identity namespaces and rules to stitch together customer data across devices (e.g., email, cookies, and mobile IDs) into a unified Real-Time Customer Profile.
    • Built and monitored both batch (CSV/database) and streaming (real-time API) data ingestion pipelines to ensure data accuracy and quality.
    • Implemented the Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK and Mobile SDK (iOS/Android) to capture user behavior and trigger in-app or push notifications.
    • Configured events and triggers that move customers through a journey based on real-time signals, such as an abandoned cart or a location-based check-in.
    • Developed REST API endpoints that AJO calls to send data to third-party systems like Slack, loyalty platforms, or external SMS providers.
    • Managed sandboxes (development, staging, production) and user permissions.
    • Set up email subdomains, IP warming strategies, and mobile push credentials.
    • Applied labels and policies to ensure CCPA compliance.
    • Used Adobe Experience Platform Assurance to inspect SDK events and troubleshoot failed journey triggers.
    • Wrote SQL queries in the AEP Query Service to analyze journey bottlenecks, error rates, and delivery success.
    • Implemented frequency capping to prevent over-messaging customers and protect downstream system performance.
