A Healthy Lifestyle Coach is a Health Promotions professional with special training and certification as a coach who evaluates, develops, and implements, a wide variety of lifestyle and behavioral modification programs for clients both inside and outside of the organization (PSF). Assists clients in understanding the behavioral change process and works along with the client to set new behavioral goals that produce desired outcomes for the individual and program. Provides approach and strategy assistance to program participants, including but not limited to, various motivation to change techniques, weight management, fitness programs, blood chemistry, safety, stress management with the ultimate goal of the participant developing self-efficacy and lifetime healthy lifestyle self-management / regulation


Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Degree or combination in the following:  Bachelor of Science or minor in Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, or Exercise Science, Dietetics, Kinesiology, Physical Therapy or related field preferred and or Bachelor of Arts or minor in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Sociology or related field preferred.  Will consider years of documented practical experience for comparable years of education on case by case basis.

Preferred graduate of a Wellness Coaching Certificated Program (i.e. WellCoaches or The Cooper Institute) and a graduate of an International Coach Federation (ICF) Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP).   Designation of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) preferred however, documented hours of experience will be considered as a substitute.  Applicants working on certification(s), with related work experience, will be considered.

Incumbent must be willing to maintain and acquire continuing coach education requirements and certifications by accredited agencies as the world of wellness coaching and health promotions dictates for continued program acceptance, credibility, standardization, uniformity, quality of service care and delivery

This position teaches a Parkinson's Fitness class.
