Certified Medical Assistant Lead - Neurology Clinic
Certified Medical Assistants are essential to delivering whole-person care to our patients within our Neurology Clinic. We offer a Medical Assistant Clinical Ladder to support growth and development within our connected system, as well as a specialized path for those dedicated to cardiac care. Our Medical Assistants, especially those in our Neurology Clinic, are highly valued team members with an important voice in this organization. Our MAs, in partnership with clinic staff and operations, created a structured approach to a more effective, efficient workaround that maintains appropriate workloads and provides a clearer path for professional development. In addition, we've established one of the first-ever MA Apprenticeship programs in partnership with an accredited local college to educate and prepare future MAs for success, including those aspiring to specialize in neurology.
This role supports the healthcare team and the patient/family by identifying and meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will promote the patient's optimal health, well-being, and safety in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the delegation of medical services as defined by the State Medical Practice Act, with a special focus on the unique needs of neurology patients.
You may perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider in accordance with our Physician Group Scope of Practice. You may also assist with front-office duties and test and/or patient appointment scheduling, including coordination of neurologic specialist visits and diagnostic imaging. MAs are responsible for accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance, ensuring all patient information is meticulously recorded. You will also attend/conduct in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth, demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values, particularly as they relate to neurological health.
In Colorado Only: Pay Ranges Begin at $20.00 for Non-Certified Medical Assistants and $21.25 for Certified Medical Assistants.
This position requires certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following recognized certifying bodies, demonstrating your commitment to providing excellent care in our Neurology Clinic:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- American Medical Technologist (AMT)
- National Healthcare Association (NHA)
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- One year experience preferred
- Clinical skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
- High School Degree or Equivalent required
- Diploma from an accredited medical assistant’s program and externship completed is preferred
- Current Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant required
- BLS for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association required
Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
