Facilities Technician
The posted compensation range of $17.43 - $26.38 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Facilities Technician, you will perform maintenance service and repairs of buildings, equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Every day you will execute general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, equipment maintenance, and safety testing. You will also provide excellent customer service while working with patients, visitors, and other staff members.
To be successful in this role, you will possess broad-based maintenance skills across various trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing), a keen eye for safety and aesthetics, and strong customer service abilities, all contributing to the optimal functioning of our facilities.
- Constructs and repairs various items (i.e.; building woodwork, windows, ceiling tiles, walls/floors, cabinets, counter tops, doors, office furniture and chairs).
- Performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, overhaul and construction duties.
- Performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Inspects and performs repairs on Life Safety components (i.e.; fire/smoke wall, doors, exit corridors, exit stairs, & chute doors).
- Accurate completion of preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of documentation in Computer Maintenance Management System i.e., work orders, equipment, and area records.
Required
- High School Diploma/G.E.D
- One (1) to two (2) years general maintenance experience
- Valid state driver's license
- Strong communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English
- Basic computer skills
Preferred
- Technical degree in a facilities related field
- Hospital facilities or healthcare construction experience
