Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Patient Access Representative at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, you will help patients and clinical teams navigate the admission and registration process so they can receive timely, seamless, and high-quality care.
Every day you will act as the first point of contact for patients entering the facility. You will be expected to ensure accuracy, maintain strict confidentiality, and provide compassionate support during the check-in process.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong administrative skills, the ability to navigate multiple computer systems, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Accuracy & Data Integrity: Expertly capture and verify patient demographics and insurance information to ensure seamless billing and clinical workflows.
- Customer Engagement: Provide a positive, professional experience for patients and families, communicating clearly regarding financial responsibilities and appointment logistics.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA) while efficiently managing high-volume registration, scheduling, and documentation tasks.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve registration discrepancies and know when to escalate complex issues to ensure workflow continuity.
Required
- High School Diploma or GED upon hire
- 1 year relevant experience in healthcare, patient access setting is preferred, along with knowledge of the following: patient registration procedures and documentation, knowledge of health insurance payers, and real-time insurance eligibility verifications.
