Every day you will directly impact the patient experience, focus on planning & preparing meals, and maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards. You’ll collaborate with a team to prep, portion, and ensure the proper storage of foods.
To thrive in this role, you will be familiar with basic cooking principles, ensure quality control in the kitchen, and demonstrate a strong sense of customer service & teamwork.
CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare food according to recipes and time schedules
- Mindful of food allergies and dietary restrictions for patients and guests
- Work as a team member in preparation, portioning, and storage of food
- Exercise quality control, including portion sizes and temperature standards
- Clean and inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
- Assists in food product evaluation, test trays, and environmental sanitation inspections
Qualifications
Education for Staff Job Levels
- High School diploma or equivalent not required, is preferred.
Experience
- Medical facility food service experience not required, is preferred.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, patients and other visitors
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic
- Enhanced stamina, ability to stand for longer periods
- Ability to safely and effectively operate kitchen-environment equipment and tools
