The posted compensation range of $15.56 - $21.40 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Work in the heart of #humankindess at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake as a full-time CNA in our Emergency Services.
As a CNA in our ED, you'll assist patients of all ages (neonates/infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics). The environment is fast-paced and you will need to be able to act and think quickly. Self-motivation and high energy are a must. You will work under the direction of Registered Nurses, assisting with things such as: obtaining vital signs, collecting lab specimens, ekg's, blood sugars, etc. You will also provide basic cares and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities
- Provides basic nursing care within scope of practice and according to age specific needs: -bathing, hygiene, feeding, elimination needs, and patient care activities
- Performs assigned nursing data collection and reports any irregularities to appropriate nursing personnel in a timely manner; vital signs, weights, intake and output, and glucose readings.
- Assists designated personnel with procedures, treatments or examinations as required.
- Uses equipment properly and safely, reports malfunctions appropriately scales-infant, standing, chair, wheelchair, bed scale, B/P recording devices with pulse oximeters, tympanic thermometers, gait belt, restraints, lead application for telemetry unit.
- Responds to patient call lights in a timely manner.
- Is knowledgeable of and assists in maintaining floor stock supplies and assists to maintain cleanliness of the unit and patient rooms.
- Performs all assigned duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in compliance with standards of care, standards of practice, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as situation warrants under direction of supervisor.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) issued by the state of North Dakota (ND).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued through American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred:
- Previous healthcare experience is desired.
- Computer experience.
