Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Staffing Coordinator, you will coordinate the scheduling and assignment of nursing personnel and patient placement, ensuring efficient and compliant staffing operations.

Every day you will maintain databases for regulatory agency compliance and productivity, and serve as a resource for Staff Scheduling, Kronos, and Workforce Dimensions payroll systems. You will ensure optimal staffing levels and accurate record-keeping.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail in scheduling and data management, and expertise in staffing software (Kronos, Workforce Dimensions). You will also ensure regulatory compliance and optimize staffing efficiency.

  • Coordinates and assigns nursing float staff and patients admitted into hospital system using appropriate guidelines and resources.
  • Places patients/staff in accordance of priority and needs in a timely manner.
  • Determines priorities for staffing needs in conjunction with the nursing unit charge nurses and administrative coordinators.
  • Equitable distribution and assignment of nursing resources in conjunction with nursing leadership.
  • Functions well in emergency situations, i.e., excessive unscheduled absences, natural/manmade disasters, mass casualties, or excessively high census.
  • Accurately maintain database (computer and manual systems) regularly (daily and monthly) for both the staffing and patient placement areas for quality assessment. Knowledgeable and responsible for staying current on staffing and patient placement guidelines and policies as directed by Team Leader and/or Clinical Nurse Manager so as to stay within budget restraints.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. 
  • Two (2) years clerical, staffing, or patient placement experience
  • Good PR/communication skills, organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and Windows products, knowledge of Medical terminology
  • Understanding of different levels of care and staffing to meet patient care needs

Preferred

  • Experience in a health care setting
