The posted compensation range of $33.15 - $59.67 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Heart Team RN, you will deliver compassionate, relationship-based care, collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of cardiac patients.
Every day you will use the nursing process, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while adhering to patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act to promote optimal patient health and safety.

- Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
- Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to IV's, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization and specimen collections.
- Promote, advocate and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
- Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
- Provide relationship-based care in which the nurse strives to understand what is most important to the individual and actively engage them in all aspects of care. This care will be delivered with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experience.
We are offering a $20,000 sign on bonus in addition to up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
$4.75 Heart Team differential added to Base Rate.
Job RequirementsRequired
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- Current state RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
- Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly
Preferred
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- One (1) year experience
The Surgery Department at Penrose Hospital has 16 OR suites and performs 30 – 40 cases per day. We specialize in heart, vascular, general, gynecology, urology, ortho, spine, neuro, plastics, robotics, and trauma procedures on adult patients only. Our department's mission is to provide the best possible patient care. People would want to join our team due to teamwork, culture, and CNOR certification pay.
