Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Technician II Certified, you will perform a variety of tasks in support of the daily workflow of the pharmacy, including the appropriate distribution of medications in compliance with state and federal laws, CSH policies, and established procedures. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will serve as a key member of the care team by preparing and dispensing prescribed medications, compounding intravenous solutions, managing inventory, and executing the charging and crediting functions associated with drug distribution.

Every day, you will maintain a clean and safe environment while utilizing proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Your responsibilities include handling controlled substances with precision, performing routine clerical and administrative tasks, and staying fully informed of departmental changes, current CSH policies, and The Joint Commission requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development by completing all required educational modules and actively participating in regular staff meetings. By staying up-to-date with regulatory standards and facility protocols, you will help ensure that our pharmacy operations remain efficient, accurate, and fully compliant.

  • Prepares, distributes, and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels while operating and maintaining automated medication delivery systems.
  • Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
  • Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation, including regulatory compliance and the handling of hazardous/chemotherapy medication as applicable.
  • Performs related duties as required.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • 6 months compounding of IV medication
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which the employee works, PHARMTECH:XX
  • Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which the employee works as required by the state
