As a Respiratory Therpaist Flights - Neonate, you will perform respiratory procedures under physician direction and/or clinical guidelines in the care of Flight for
Life NICU patients for Transports and hospital base. You will be responsible for patient assessments, care plans, plan implementation and evaluation and revision of therapy plan as needed. You will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure the most effective and efficient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. You will need to utilize knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care. You will support the organization vision and mission and practices performance improvement techniques to assure the delivery of the most effective patient care.


Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified flight nurse candidates will need the following:

Experience Requirements

  • Three (3) years of respiratory therapy experience including Level III/IV NICU, required
  • Critical Care air and ground transport experience, preferred
  • Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR), preferred

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma / G.E.D., required
  • Associate Degree, preferred

License/Certification Requirements

  • Must have current state Respiratory Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment. Must have CRT by NBRC.
  • Basic Life Support American Heart Association, required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support American Heart Association Required ACLS certification from upon hire or obtain within 6 months of hire (for locations in Kansas, ACLS is required within one (1) year of hire/transfer date).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Required Current NRP certification
  • Certified Neonatal and Pediatric Transport (C-NPT) upon hire or within two (2) years
  • Valid Driver License, required
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass the annual review of driving record for safe vehicle operations
  • Must maintain current on all certifications required by Commission for Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certificate, preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
