Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Robotics Coordinator you will provide leadership, coordination, ongoing robotic program development to positively impact growth productivity of robotic service line for SMH Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery. Collaborates with perioperative leadership to achieve and maintain Robotic Center of Excellence designation as well as efforts to exceed performance targets of the robotic surgery program. Provide supervision to the technical aspects of the Robotic Surgery Program and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide education, resource support, and input on clinical assignments and performance evaluations, where applicable. Establish standardized practice protocols to achieve performance targets.

  • Must work on both the Bryan and College Station campuses as needed.
  • Consistently complies with CommonSpirit Health practices, policies (e.g., attendance, patient safety), and procedures. Abides by standards set in the CommonSpirit Health Standards of Conduct.
  • Completes and maintains all regulatory requirements including licensing and certification, and other mandatory training within established time frames. Submits documentation 2 weeks prior to evaluation or as appropriate. Requirements may consist of, but are not limited to TB Testing, Safety Test, Compliance Training, HIPAA Training, Licensing and Certification.
  • This standard is mandatory for those employees who have direct patient contact and may only be measured using an entity, department, unit or specific question Press-Ganey score. A patient satisfaction or customer service standard may be developed for non- direct patient care employees at the manager’s discretion.
  • May at times provide direct clinical support to the robotic service line during staff orientations or when maintaining operational efficiencies by performing the following surgical technologist role. Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure. Scrubs, gowns, gloves self and others
  • Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure. Assists with surgical draping. Passes instruments to surgeon during procedure. Maintains highest standards of surgical technique. Accountable for complete instrument trays. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to operation and before incision closure is complete. Complies with all surgical policies and procedures. Update surgeon’s preference cards per entity specific process. Cleans and prepares instruments for decontamination when needed. Assists team members with interval and terminal room cleanings when needed. Assists in room prep for proceeding patients
Job Requirements

Required:

  • Associates Degree
  • Surgical Assistant License OR Registered Nurse: TX OR Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (W/ American Heart Association)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
