The posted compensation range of $17.67 - $24.96 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
This role supports the Anatomic Pathology department by managing specimens, supplies, and instruments. Key responsibilities include:
- Specimen Handling:Interpreting lab requests, correctly labeling patient samples, accurately recording cytology specimen details, and selecting appropriate preparation methods. Strict adherence to protocols prevents cross-contamination.
- Workflow & Quality:Maintaining quality control records, managing departmental workflow to meet turnaround times, and actively participating in Quality Assurance and Improvement programs.
- Equipment & Inventory:Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment, along with documenting all maintenance. Also assists with managing reagent and supply inventory.
- Storage & Retrieval:Retrieving, storing, and disposing of specimens, slides, and tissue blocks as required.
This position ensures the efficient and effective operation of the pathology department through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established standards.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma/ GED
Required: 6 months clinical laboratory experience
