Job Summary and Responsibilities
M-F 7-3p- variable coverage
As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides.
Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.
To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential.
- Uses two patient identifiers
- Compares doctor’s order to requisition for accuracy
- Assesses patient for possible artifacts and takes appropriate action to prevent interference with image
- Calculates, prepares, and administers proper patient dose and correct radiopharmaceutical according to dept. standard.
- Properly disposes of radioactive waste, contaminated lines, and spent radiopharmaceuticals
- Routinely demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School GED General Studies, upon hire or
- High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire and
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program, upon hire
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, within 90 Days and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
