The posted compensation range of $22.89 - $33.20 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for administering population specific occupational therapy treatments and related duties as assigned by the occupational therapist for patients in the acute care and outpatient environment to assist patients in retaining and regaining their highest functional level. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant carries out work under the direction of the Occupational Therapist who provides the assistant with supervision in accordance with the laws of Tennessee for occupational therapy. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant promotes the field of Occupational Therapy through marketing/education/participation in activities in hospital and community, participates in the education of students as Clinical Instructor when assigned, maintains personal and departmental professional competence, and maintains a “customer orientation” awareness while interacting with patient, families, and other professionals.
Qualifications
Required Education: Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program per American Occupational Therapy Association.
Required Licensure and Certifications: Certified under the statues of the state of TN for Occupational Therapy. Must maintain current credential requirements.
TN state license.
Current BCLS.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: All modalities utilized within the therapy department. Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in occupational therapy for the evaluation and treatment of various patient populations in acute and outpatient settings as well as possible hazards to patients during treatments and necessary precautionary/remedial measures. May enter secured medication rooms to deliver or to access supplies and equipment necessary to carry out core job functions.
PREFERRED Qualifications: No previous experience required; experience in acute care or outpatient services preferred. GA state license preferred. Electrical stimulation and modality certification preferred
