The posted compensation range of $23.00 - $32.49 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Trauma Registrar, you will accurately abstract and enter data from patient records into the Trauma Patient Registry. Your meticulous work ensures a consistent and reliable trauma database, vital for program evaluation.
Every day you will abstract data from complex patient records, applying AIS and ICD-10 injury coding for accurate entry. You'll work closely with the Trauma Registry Supervisor and Trauma Program Manager, ensuring database integrity and quality.
To be successful, you will be self-motivated, with meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy. Strong proficiency in AIS and ICD-10 coding, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to data quality are essential.
- Responsible for Trauma Registry content including chart abstraction, data entry, and data brought in via interface
- Generates basic registry reports.
- Knowledgeable to medical terminology and able to identify complications and procedures in patient's medical record
- Codes injury severity for all traumatic injuries using multidisciplinary notes, pre-hospital information, radiology, operative and consultation reports
- Abstracts each patients medical record to accurately detail diagnosis, procedures, complications, and discharge status
- Maintain a working log of individual patients.
- Hybrid remote- work from home with mandatory in person meetings 1 time per month
Required
- High School GED High School Diploma
- Three + years experience in a medical setting
- Experience in ICD-10 coding and data abstraction entry
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology
- Microsoft applications
Preferred
- Associates Degree
- Emergency Department, trauma, or surgical experience
- One year Trauma Registry, AIS injury coding
