Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Program Manager for Behavioral Health will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and mental health professional staff within Dignity Health East Valley to work towards improving the care of behavioral health patients within its facilities. The position places an emphasis on innovation, evaluation, and dissemination.

Job Standards:

  • Coordinates operational aspects of Behavioral Health care. Establishes and sustains performance improvement program initiatives, including outcome evaluations and action planning.
  • Provides direction, expertise and leadership to Dignity Health East Valley facilities in regards to Behavioral Health programs. Provides education to staff and providers.
  • Works in collaboration with sponsoring physician (if applicable), case management and staff nurses to provide patient care.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing departments, ancillary staff on behalf of patients and their families.
  • Ensures that all care is consistent with current evidence-based practice.
  • Formulates discharge plan and works in collaboration with case management to ensure safe, timely discharge. Writes discharge prescriptions and educates patients on medications.

Qualifications

MINIMUM

  • Master's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Five (5) years Behavioral Health nursing experience required.
  • Current AZ RN license
  • Current AZ Nurse Practitioner license
  • National Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 
    Current DEA certificate 
  • American Heart Association BLS and ACLS
  • Credentialed as allied health professional with CRMC and MGMC

PREFERRED

  • DNP
  • Three (3) years experience as Behavioral Health NP
