The posted compensation range of $52.15 - $77.58 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
We are in need an experienced, take charge Director of Philanthropy to serve as a member of the Dignity Health Foundation East Valley development staff. This key position reports to our Chief Philanthropy Officer, and will drive philanthropic activity for Chandler Regional Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, and Arizona General Hospital Mesa.
You must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building effective donor relationships. Demonstrated ability to develop strong personal relationships with donors, enabling these donors to achieve their philanthropic goals. The Director should also have a passion for non-profit organizations, and experience with aligning their individual and team efforts with the mission of the organization.
The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for planning and administering a comprehensive and balanced fundraising program in support of the organization's goals. This position will likely have both direct fund-raising and operational and / or program oversight as part of their job portfolio.
- Oversees the fundraising progress toward individual and team goals and work toward the successful attainment of those goals according to the development plan.
- Manages a portfolio of prospects and donors to build and maintain a prospect and donor base for the Foundation. Works with prospects and develops their relationship with the organization, ultimately increasing giving.
- Sets and implements complex strategic activities/collateral for fundraising. Creates a menu of giving opportunities and writes case statements and proposals.
- Oversees the management and recruitment of staff, volunteer and support groups, councils, committees and measures their impact on the overall goals of the associated organization.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
Minimum Experience Required:
- Minimum five (5) years of not-for-profit fundraising and development experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of management experience.
Preferred:
- Supervisory experience.
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
