Charge Nurse Labor and Delivery

As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in Labor and Delivery adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
• Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
• Evaluates care given by staff.
• Coaches to improve care.
• Ensures standard of care is maintained.
• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.

Required

• Associate Of Nursing Nursing, upon hire or
• Diploma Nursing, upon hire or
• Registered Nurse: AZ, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire

Preferred

• Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and
• Charge Nurse experience. and
• Previous experience with personal computers. and
• Bachelors Of Nursing Nursing, upon hire
