The posted compensation range of $22.95 - $33.28 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Incumbent answers all incoming telephone calls in a helpful professional manner. Incumbent ensures that all procedures for Imaging, Cardio-Diagnostics, ATU and/or Endoscopy are scheduled appropriately while assuring timeliness of the appointment. In addition the incumbent will provide scheduling services and preparation instructions to the patient or doctor's office. Incumbent ensures appropriate equipment for each procedure is available and distributes surgical and ancillary schedules as appropriate. Will be primary back-up for Manager- Scheduling
Essential Functions:
- Serve as primary backup when Manager Scheduling is unavailable.
- Provide training for all new hires both in person and/or remotely when applicable.
- Provide ongoing training for current staff.
- Perform quality assurance checks on new hires.
- Perform quality assurance checks on phone calls.
- Back up and support all areas within the scheduling department (i.e. cardiology phones, regular recall, imaging recall, incoming referrals and outgoing referrals).
- Participate/take the lead in training opportunities for process efficiencies.
- Accept incoming calls related to scheduling, answering questions, crating appointments, transferring calls to the correct department, checking recall, etc.
- Quality checks on assigned schedule to ensure quality metrics are met with templates and schedules. Verify insurance and work with insurance coordinator for appropriate verification.
- Create and complete chart notes for all recall, reminder calls and conversations with patients unrelated to check in/check out process.
- Attend and participate in staff meeting to ensure an understanding of new processes and discussion of problems.

Minimum:
Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as scheduler in medical field
Education:
HS Diploma/ GED
Associates Degree preferred
Licensure:
Non- Specified
Knowledge, Skillls, Training:
Effective communication skills.
Knowledge of insurance processes.
Maintain a working knowledge of insurance participation and non-participation issues
