The posted compensation range of $74.71 - $123.27 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Region Director Finance, you will serve as a high-level financial strategist and a core member of the leadership team, providing critical oversight for the daily financial operations of our hospitals, emergency centers, and community clinics. You will act as a primary advisor to facility leadership, bridging the gap between complex financial data and actionable business strategy to drive organizational sustainability. By leveraging your expertise in capital planning, labor management, and forecasting, you will ensure our financial health aligns with the mission of CommonSpirit Health, ultimately supporting the resources necessary to deliver exceptional patient care.
Every day you will manage the complexities of regional financial performance, ranging from conducting month-end and quarterly close analyses to spearheading annual budgeting processes. You will collaborate with department directors to monitor productivity, analyze variances in patient charges and supply utilization, and provide the financial modeling required for strategic business cases. Whether you are standardizing reporting procedures with the facility CFO, mentoring finance team members, or presenting complex financial trends to executive boards, your analytical rigor will be instrumental in identifying operational improvements and maintaining fiscal excellence across our diverse facilities.

- Directs the monthly variance analysis for departmental leaders to review overall financial performance, including, but not limited to, volume analysis, patient charges, labor productivity, supply utilization, and other expenses.
- Collaborates throughout the year with department directors and other hospital leadership to understand and manage to their budgets, performs budgeting and forecasting, and drives cost reduction and operational improvements.
- Supports the development and preparation of the annual operational, strategic, and capital financial budget.
- Assists with pro forma development for business cases required by leaders across the hospital, including larger strategic initiatives as well as smaller department restructuring, OR business cases, etc.
- Plays a leadership role in numerous reporting needs to the hospital executive team, local boards, as well as other requests (group, system, sponsor, community, etc.) for CommonSpirit Health.
- Work with the facility CFO and other financial personnel to standardize month-end reporting and operating procedures that affect their department's workflow; may cover some CFO duties when the CFO is out of the office.
Required
- Bachelor Degree
- Master Degree OR equivalent education and experience.
- Ten (10) years of experience Finance, Accounting, or Decision Support. Strong preference for healthcare experience.
- Five (5) years in a Leadership position.
- Extensive experience partnering with executive business leaders and providing a holistic view of business strategy, processes and financial objectives.
- Excellent communication and managerial abilities with the ability to present complex information to a wide array of audiences with different levels of financial understanding.
- In-depth operational understanding of revenue cycle operations and/or payor community.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, pivot table, report building skills.
- Experience with Oracle Financial or comparable planning technologies.
- Proven ability to perform complex financial analysis, modeling and reporting.
- In-depth expertise of healthcare financial models and key operational indicators.
Preferred
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Board level experience is a plus.
