The posted compensation range of $30.25 - $34.00 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
The incumbent is a member of the healthcare team whose role is to facilitate unit operations through patient registration and scheduling, order processing, requisition of services and patient procedures, processing and tracking of charges as applicable, maintaining accurate and complete patient charts, managing unit clerical supplies, and demonstrating proper communications etiquette while managing multiple phone and intercom lines. The Unit Assistant may also assist in patient care as assigned.
As our Unit Aide, you will provide essential non-clinical support and comfort to patients and staff, assisting other members of the healthcare team with providing basic patient care under the direction of a Staff Nurse. Every day you will support daily unit operations by assisting with patient comfort needs, transporting patients, performing light cleaning, stocking supplies, and relaying messages to nurses to ensure an organized environment. To be successful in this role, you will exhibit a helpful, compassionate demeanor, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining unit efficiency and team support within a dynamic healthcare setting.
Job Requirements
- One (1) year Unit Assistant/Clerk in an Emergency Department within a hospital.
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
Preferred
- Previous experience assisting in direct patient care.
