Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Quality Patient Safety Program Manager Licensed, you will help the hospital and medical staff to optimize quality management, patient safety, and regulatory performance improvement activities so they can ensure the highest standards of patient care and operational excellence within CommonSpirit Health.

Every day you will coordinate and facilitate performance improvement teams, manage data collection and reporting for regulatory compliance, and present vital insights to hospital leadership. You will be expected to maintain a deep understanding of accreditation requirements, mentor staff on best practices, and actively participate in creating a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.

To be successful in this role you must possess strong communication skills (oral and written), a presentation style that can concisely deliver complex data, and extensive knowledge of quality management/performance improvement methods and tools. You'll also need proven experience in healthcare-related quality management, regulatory compliance, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.

  • Designs, plans, and coordinates Quality Management, Patient Safety, Risk Reductions and Performance Improvement activities for hospital and medical staff.
  • Ensures compliance with CMS, TJC, and Leapfrog data collection, reporting, and validation.
  • Facilitates meetings, presents data, identifies findings, and supports action plans.
  • Maintains accreditation/licensing knowledge, advises staff, and aids regulatory readiness and survey preparation.
  • Researches root cause analysis

Job Requirements

Required

  • Active state license in a clinical field in state of practice
  • Three (3) years clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • One (1) year healthcare-related quality management/performance improvement experience (e.g., chart audits, PI team member, etc.).
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or Healthcare Quality and Management Certification (HCQM), or Certificate of Professional Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety (CPQPS) within two (2) years of employment

Preferred

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
