Job Summary and Responsibilities

The incumbent is a member of the healthcare team who is accountable for providing technical and/or supportive services under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse/Supervisor/Clinical Coordinator in the Operating Room.

As an Operating Room Tech, you will be a vital member of the healthcare team, providing technical and supportive services in the Operating Room under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse/Supervisor/Clinical Coordinator. Daily, you may access or distribute drugs, needles, or syringes to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as per hospital policy. Your role ensures seamless and safe OR function, supporting surgical procedures and maintaining sterility. Success in this role requires meticulous attention, strong surgical and sterile technique knowledge, excellent teamwork, and adherence to all policies.


Job Requirements

  • Operating Room Technician in an acute care setting or graduation from an accredited surgical technology program with externship at Mercy San Juan Main OR.
  • One (1) year (When the unit is staffed with enough experienced surgical techs to support a recent graduate of a surgical tech program or internship, applicants without the requisite experience may be considered).
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
