Mercy San Juan, a proud member of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Family Birth Center (FBC) Leader to join our nationally recognized team.   • Empowers mothers with complex needs: We offer a specialized Diabetes and Pregnancy Program, providing crucial support and expert care to expectant mothers managing this challenging condition.
  • Provides comprehensive high-risk expertise: As the Level 3 High-Risk Facility within the greater Sacramento Dignity Hospitals, we are a beacon of hope for families facing complex pregnancies. Our dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists are specialized in high-risk and antepartum care, ensuring both mom and baby receive the highest level of medical attention. We are a crucial referral center for Northern California, often welcoming antepartum transfers who may remain with us for extended periods until a safe delivery.
  • It is supported by cutting-edge resources: Our FBC boasts 28 beds, including 12 labor beds, 2 state-of-the-art Operating Rooms, a 2-patient PACU, 2 triage bays, and a 14-bed private Mother-Baby unit. We also have a Level III NICU adjoining our Family Birth Center, offering seamless support for our patients and care team.
  • Benefits from dedicated internal support: We average 150 deliveries a month, supported by experienced Nurse Shift Managers, a Perinatal Safety Specialist, and a Perinatal Certified Nurse Specialist. Crucially, we have in-house OB hospitalists and designated OB anesthesiologists to provide immediate and expert care to our patients and invaluable support to our staff 24/7.
  • Embraces innovation and continuous learning: Unique to CommonSpirit Health, our Women’s & Infants Service Line (WISL) supports all FBCs across our enterprise, focusing on new evidence-based practices and research. You'll be at the forefront of perinatal advancements, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years related nursing experience AND one year of leadership experience in the specialty.
  • Current CA RN license 
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS
  • NRP within 6 months of hire
