Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose
Under the direction and supervision of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring day to day operational readiness by supporting EMS crews. Supervisors will ensure that daily scheduling, crew needs, and operational readiness is achieved by interacting with superiors and crews to disseminate appropriate information, supplies, and education to the EMS crews.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Performs daily briefings with supervisors daily.
- Communicates with on duty crews to ensure operational readiness.
- Responds to incidents by vehicle in a support function for on duty crews.
- Maintains and facilitates effective and timely communication between management, internal and external customers.
- Participates in activities to support PR and marketing efforts.
- Maintains critical care knowledge and certification.
- Follows facility and department safety policies and procedures to include
incident reporting.
- Attend 80% of supervisor meetings that include critical care education.
- Obtain a critical care certification within 6 months of completing the department sponsored critical care class. First attempt to pass the critical care exam must be within three months of class completion.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization's needs.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience | Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: Three years’ experience in EMS |
Required Licensure and Certifications | Active paramedic certification issued by the State of Texas and in good standing with the issuing authority. Valid Texas Driver’s License. Flight Paramedic Certification through the International Board of Specialty Certifications (IBSC). |
