The posted compensation range of $15.00 - $15.00 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose
Under the guidance of the Clinical Coordinator of Respiratory Therapy and the Director of Respiratory Therapy, the Respiratory Therapy Aide provides assistance and technical support to the Respiratory Therapy department. These duties include, but are not limited to: performing ECGs, stocking, processing of equipment and supplies, and delivering of equipment.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Inventories all departmental regularly stocked items biweekly.
- Cleans ventilators, performs ventilator calibration verification and sets up for patient use by end of day. Maintains calibration records. 100% of all ventilators will have a successful calibration verification before being used on a patient.
- Delivers ventilators to ICU and ER on request by therapists within 5 minutes. Delivers any other requested equipment to therapists in a timely manner.
- Cleans and inspects all non-disposable equipment, assures proper cleaning and/or sterilization. Reassembles the equipment prior to completion of their shift.
- Inspects all electrical equipment for physical damage prior to cleaning for reuse. Tags and places FIX tickets for all damaged equipment prior to re-releasing back to stock.
- Inventories all facility gas cylinders 3 times a week. Checks oxygen cylinders in facility floor banks and replaces empty or low bottles in all areas.
- Checks all dirty supply rooms throughout the hospital for respiratory therapy equipment that needs processing.
- Perform ECGs as they are ordered.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Attending an accredited school for degree in Respiratory Therapy
