What You'll Do:As a Pre/Post-Surgical RN in our Heart & Vascular Center, you will be instrumental in:

  • Providing comprehensive pre-operative assessments and education to patients and their families, ensuring they are prepared and comfortable.
  • Delivering exceptional post-operative care, closely monitoring patients' recovery, managing pain, and identifying potential complications.
  • Administering medications, performing wound care, and managing lines/drains with precision and expertise.
  • Collaborating effectively with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care plans.
  • Documenting patient vital signs, progress, and interventions accurately and timely.
  • Educating patients and families on discharge instructions and self-care after surgery.

Work Agreement

  • Shift Type/Length: Monday - Friday 0600-1830,  3 - 12hr Shifts
  • On Call Expectations: Only when patient care exceeds scheduled shift (past 1830)
  • Weekend Rotation: NONE
  • Holiday Rotation: NONE

Job Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • Current and Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota (or compact state).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience considered.
  • Proven experience in an acute care setting, ideally with some exposure to cardiology, critical care, or surgical units.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to act swiftly and decisively in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and patient education abilities.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
