Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Technologist/OB Tech, you will help our patients, nursing staff, and surgical teams facilitate safe and smooth surgical procedures and deliver exceptional patient care, so they can experience positive birth outcomes and recover comfortably.

Every day you will provide direct and indirect patient care, including setting up and assisting surgical teams during C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions, maintaining sterile fields, and managing instrumentation. You will be expected to assist with patient needs, monitor vital signs, document observations, ensure patient comfort and safety, maintain surgical equipment and supply inventories, and collaborate seamlessly with RNs, physicians, and other team members, while also engaging in professional development and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you must have knowledge of surgical instrumentation, asepsis, and medical terminology, along with the ability to anticipate patient needs, maintain sterile technique, effectively assist surgical teams, and demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care and the well-being of obstetrical patients.

We are offering a $20,000 Sign On Bonus for those eligible.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program OR
  • Completion of on-the-job training as a scrub tech with a minimum of 5 years’ experience OR
  • Completion of an accredited medical personnel program (such as but not limited to CNA, MA, LPN, EMT I/II, or SPD tech) who are willing to do on-the-job training with a structured competency regimen.
  • BLS is required upon hire (acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include: American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers).
  • Ability to anticipate patient needs.
  • Ability to maintain sterile technique.
  • Ability to effectively assist surgical teams.
  • A commitment to patient-centered care and the well-being of obstetrical patients.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist or OB Tech.
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
  • Understanding of asepsis principles.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
